We are again ecstatic about the many accomplishments and the valuable assistance we were able to bring to our clients in 2022. Over the span of a year, we were able to acquire two EEOC hearing decisions, thwart a proposed removal by a Federal Agency and two proposed terminations in the Private Sector; additionally, we were able to settle numerous EEO complaints to our client’s satisfaction.
Here’s a breakdown of what we were able to achieve in 2022:
- P&A settled 20 cases, where we negotiated over $540,000 in compensatory damages and attorney’s fees for our clients.
- P&A was able to get a Federal Agency to rescind a proposed removal, and two Private Sector companies to rescind proposed terminations.
- P&A was victorious in two EEOC hearings; one against the Department of Veterans Affairs, proving that the Agency discriminated and retaliated against our client, garnering a settlement (without a Judge’s Order) for a total of $88,592.20 in damages and attorney’s fees; and a second victory against the U.S. Department of Justice (FBI) where the Judge found the Agency discriminated on the basis of his Disability, Retaliated against him on the basis of prior EEO activity; and subjected him to a hostile work environment based on his Disability and in Retaliation. The Judge awarded $85,815.45 in attorneys’ fees and costs, $73,955.56 in pecuniary compensatory damages, $75,000 in non-compensatory damages, $167,715.20 in front-pay, and $169,362.90 in back-pay, resulting in a $571,879.11 award*.
